New Hair

I got a new look tonight. I decided to dye my hair black and put some accenting reddish/purple highlights in it. My long time neighbor, stylist, and friend did it. I love it!

And this is after! I am so happy to have my hair dark again. I love it!

Happy Birthday! (yesterday)

Yesterday was Brian's 24 birthday. We had fun spending time with both of our families. He got a funny card from his parents quoting Micheal Scott about reverse psychology.

His mom made his favorite dinner (Chicken and Brocolli Casserole) and carrot cake

After dinner we went my parent's house to watch the season premier of 24. It was a good birthday for him.

Happy birthday my love! I am so lucky to be married to you. You're my best friend and make me feel so special.

3 days later and I am still smiling

I watched this years Sugarl Bowl game at my parent's house. My mom grew up in Alabama so she is a Crimson Tide fan so it was fun to watch it with some what of a rival.

The first quarter was so suprising. I couldn't stop smiling.

I took a picture with my mom during half time so we still didn't know who won so neither one of us would look cocky in the picture.

The final score! Wow, this game was incredible. 8 sacks and 2 interceptions, always being in the lead, I still can't believe we won. 13-0, the only undefeated team in the nation! GO UTES!

Welcoming in 2009 the Southern way

Every year my mom makes us eat a spoonful of black eyed peas for good luck during the next year, it's a Southern tradition that she got from her mother. They are the most digusting thing I have ever had to eat. They taste like dirt and smell even worse.

This was Brian's first year experiencing this tradition. Needless to say he didn't like the way they tasted.

Christmas break fun

Not working or going to school has been very relaxing. We've been able to sleep in, lounge around, and spend time with friends and family.
Us on our first Christmas together.

We ate lots of good food from our favorite place Training Table. Cheese fries and chicken fingers make for one good meal.

We ate at a place called 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. They have really good burgers that you can custom order.

Brian even broke down and got a haircut. It was a little shorter than we anticipated, but it still looks good on him.

Christmas 2008

Our first Christmas was spent down in Salt Lake with both of our families. We spent the night at Brian's house so we could be there to open presents with his little brother and sisters. It was a great Christmas. Brian got an iphone, creme brulie set and lots of warm sweatshirts and I got a new digital camera, a snowboard package, and lots of cute clothes. After opening presents we got to talk to Brian's brother Brandon who is on a mission on in Brasil. Christmas dinner was fondue with chicken, steak, veggies, and cheese dip. Dessert was chocolate fondue with lots of good things to dip in it.

After spending time with Brian's family we headed over to my parent's house for more Christmas fun. We opened presents from the siblings and parents. We got some new movies, sweatshirts, and books. It was great to have everyone together, dogs included. (Top row: Josh and his wife Anna. I even got to see one of my cousins Todd that I hadn't seen in almost 5 years, he was visiting from Kansas.

The first stamp on my passport

Just before Christmas Brian and I went to the Bahamas with his family. It was a welcomed break from the cold weather and snow. We passed the time going to a water park, site seeing, snorkeling, and swimming with dolphins.
We hiked up to a place called Queen's Staircase. It was really pretty and we got to go up a huge flight of stairs next to a waterfall. Then at the top of the stairs there was a Fort that was used to protect the seaport. There one of the locals talked us into a tour of the city, we loaded up into his van and he gave us a tour while wearing a king's crown. He made sure to point out all of the historical buildings and all of the 5 star restaurants in the area.
There was an Aquarium at the resort where we stayed, this is a picture of the biggest Manta Ray we have ever seen(this picture doesn't do it justice)
We also went and visited a Pirate Museum. We're looking sad because of the marooned pirate. The best part about this adventure happened as we were looking at the lower level of the exhibit when the lights and sounds suddenly turned off. Brian's dad led us back to the light with the flash on his camera, but when we got back to the door we entered in it was locked. His little brother lost it and burst into tears thinking we'd be locked inside forever. Luckily for us one of the workers had stuck around for a bit and was able to let us out. As he let us out he informed us that the museum was closed for the day, we left feeling a bit embarrassed.
These are some sharks just chilling taking a nap in one of the tanks that the water park had. Brian and I spent the day at the water park with his little brother and sister. I am proud to say that I went down all the "scariest" slides, mostly to prove to his 9 year old brother that I wasn't a wuss. We had a good time and got a good work out going up all the stairs to get the top of the slides.
This is the view from our hotel room. It was such a beautiful place it made coming back to all this snow very hard.
