Out with the old...in with the new!

For Christmas this year Brian and I got a new couch! Our old couches were donated to us from his Aunt and Uncle (who knows how old they actually are) but we were very anxious to replace them with something we could both fit on! They finally came after 6 long weeks of waiting!

Fun side story...when I moved our old couch to make room for the new one I found this...yep, a dead mouse had been chillin under there. Sick.
This is what our couches used to look like... (small, old, and uncomfortable)
And here are our beautiful new couches! I love them. It's a sectional, and each piece is almost as wide as a twin size mattress...they make everything else in our apartment look nicer. It's fabulous.

One of the best Christmas presents ever!

Our life

Brian and Stevie:
Living is Sandy is great. We love it. Everytime I hear about the lastest snow storm up in Logan I always smile a little bit. We both like our jobs here. I am working part time as a nanny for two families. It's great for me, the kids are very well behaved and it's nice to only work a few hours each day in the morning. Brian started his job at ARUP, he works as a data-entry person. Right now he works the day shift while in training, but he's going to start his actual shift, which is the graveyard, next week, I'm not quite sure how I feel about that-I don't like to be home alone while sleeping...but I'm sure I will get used to it. He is takingt this semester off from school and will start up again this summer. Our new ward is good. We are going to a regular family ward, which I like a lot better than the married student wards that we went to up in Logan. There are a few young couples, but it's mostly made up of families and older couples.

Baby:
So I am now 6 weeks and 4 days away from my due date...everything is going well. I had to switch doctors again because of insurance, so now we will be having the baby at the U of U hospital, I haven't met my new doctor yet (I go next week) but from what I've heard about her she is great. We also have the nursery pretty much set up. The crib is all set up and the clothes are put away. Now I just need to decorate the walls and make it look cute! I am not totally ready for the baby to be here, but I ready to be done being pregnant. I miss being able to wear my wedding ring, sleep on my back, and going up a flight of stairs without getting winded. I won't miss people looking at my tummy instead of my face, and I for sure won't miss wearing maturnity clothes. I'm still not very big, most people assume I am only 6 or 7 months along and are shocked to find out I have a month and a half left. All my doctors say that I am mearsuring right where I should be so the fact that I'm small in the belly is just fine.

This is me at 33 weeks

Well that's the lastest with us! For now life is pretty relaxed and calm...but soon enough that will change!

Assembling the first piece of baby furniture

I ordered some of our baby furniture the other day, they had the glider/rocker in stock so we were able to bring that home and assemble it.

Brian decided it would be better to follow the directions step by step instead of trying to figure it out on his own...in this picture he is putting together the base of the chair.
Adding on the back...
Enjoying his hard work...it will probably stay in our family room for the time being to provide another place to sit and relax.

He accomplised this task in 40 minutes...hopefully it's just as easy to put the crib together.

Hidden Talents

Yep, a little known fact about my husband-he can play the piano. He took lessons as a kid and played all the time on his mission and right after, but as school, work, and life caught up with him his skills got a bit rusty. For christmas he got an electric piano. According to him it feels just like a real piano, but is small enough to fit in our apartment and has a volume control so we don't disturb the upstairs neighbors. It's fun listening to him re-learn all of his favorite songs. He isn't quiet ready to show off his skills, but he is very happy to be playing again.

Happy Birthday Brian!

Brian's 25th birthday was yesterday. It's been a 3 day celebration! On Sunday we went to my parents house for dinner and cake, last night we went to his parents house for dinner and cake, and tonight I made him his favorite meal (and we ate leftover cake). It's been really great, I love birthdays. Brian wasn't so excited about this one-I guess 25 seems old to him. It is weird to think that when I met him he was only 22, it seems like just yesterday. He just gets better with each year that I know him.

Brian's birthday and my brother Zach's birthday are a week apart so we do a joint celebration.

Update...

The move:
Moving down from Logan went perfect! Since I'm not allowed to lift anything over 20 pounds I decided to go to work instead of stand around with nothing to do...we had Brian's Aunt and Uncle come and help him get everything in the truck. Surprisingly there were no unexpected mishaps, missing trucks, or snow (although it was -10 while they were loading the truck up) which is incredible since something always goes wrong when we move. Brian was met by both of our families to help unload and move into our new apartment, by the time I got off work and drove down everything was unloaded and the unpacking had begun. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped! It was very appreciated! We are loving our new place and being so close to so many friends and family. (But I do miss my Logan friends and most of my students)

Christmas:
Soon after moving down we went on a trip to Florida with Brian's family. (I don't have pictures because my camera was dead) It was a little chilly for Florida, but warmer than home. We spent the days relaxing and going to the theme parks, it was nice to be away from the worries of everyday life and enjoy doing nothing. Christmas Eve was spent doing last minute shopping and going to my family's Christmas party. Christmas day was spent between both families opening presents, catching up, and playing games. All of our siblings were able to make it to the festivies this year so it was nice to have everyone together! Yay for the holidays.

The baby:
Things are going well and growing as they should. I just started the 3rd trimester so he'll be here before we know it! Here are a few pictures to document the growth...
10 Weeks

20 Weeks

28 weeks
So all in all things are going well and we are very happy and loving life!

Can't seem to stay settled

So we're moving again! It'll be the 3rd time we are moving since May! But this time we are moving out of Logan and down to Salt Lake (the Sandy area to be exact). I am so excited! This means so many wonderful things such as Target, Training Table, Ute season tickets, friends, family, and so much more! We move on December 12th, so hopefully it won't snow that day, but with our bad luck when it comes to moving it wouldn't surprise me if it did! :) Anyway, I can't wait to be returning to the 801 area code in 7 days!
